Rocketry Curing Oven

aka "Pink coffin"

Goals: 140F or higher, even heat distribution, long enough for a 6.5' composite tube, wide enough for L3 fin cans.

Mechanical: 2 sheets 4' X 4' X 8' 1.5" pink foam, foil & 3M adhesive spray, construction adhesive & deck screws on all the joints. Hinges, furring strips & weather stripping for the recessed top. A couple of 1" X 3" furring strips on the bottom for protection. Overall size 2' X 2' X 8'.

Electronics: Industrial temperature controller off eBay, thermocouple, AC cord & connector, fuses, switch, project box, fans, resistors, thermal grease & aluminum panels for heat sinks.

Investment: < $200 & 6 hours.

Bonuses: This is sealed tightly enough that during spring-fall ambient temps, it can get to 140F. That's high enough that along with the ramp/set/ramp functions in the controller, the oven can handle cure/post-cure needs in one process to achieve full cures and increase Tg. It currently configured for set point curing.
